1. Introduction

Post Padel ('we', 'us', 'our') is an app developed by Padelgrips.nl, registered in the Netherlands under 60954809, located at Gobatstraat 15, Castricum, The Netherlands. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use the Post Padel app.

We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / AVG).

2. Minimum Age

Post Padel is intended for users aged 16 and older. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 16. If we become aware that a user is under 16, we will delete their account and associated data.

3. What Data We Collect

3.1 Account Data

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address (used for login and marketing communications)

• Name (optional, used for personalisation)

• Password (stored in encrypted form — we never see your plain-text password)

3.2 Match and Training Data

When you log a match or training session, we collect:

• Match results (score, win/loss)

• Skill ratings per shot type (forehand, backhand, volley, smash, etc.)

• Notes and reflections you add yourself

• Timestamps and frequency of use

3.3 Device and Usage Data

We automatically collect limited technical data to ensure the app functions correctly:

• Device type and operating system (iOS or Android)

• App version

• Crash reports and error logs

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your data for the following purposes:

• Providing the app and its features (account management, match tracking, performance insights)

• Generating personalised AI coaching tips based on your match data

• Sending you marketing emails about Post Padel and Padelgrips.nl (only with your consent)

• Improving the app based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns

• Responding to support requests

5. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data based on the following legal grounds under GDPR:

• Performance of a contract — to provide the app and its core features (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)

• Consent — for marketing emails and optional data sharing (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)

• Legitimate interest — for improving app stability and security (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)

6. AI and Automated Processing

Post Padel uses OpenAI's API to generate personalised coaching tips based on your match data. Your match data may be sent to OpenAI's servers solely for this purpose. OpenAI processes this data as a data processor on our behalf and is not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

OpenAI is headquartered in the United States. Data transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards in accordance with GDPR (Standard Contractual Clauses).

No automated decisions that produce significant legal or similarly significant effects are made solely on the basis of your data.

7. Third-Party Services

We share your data with the following third-party service providers, acting as data processors:

Supabase

We use Supabase to store your account and match data. Supabase servers are located in the EU. More information: supabase.com/privacy

Shopify / Padelgrips.nl

If you consent to marketing, your email address is shared with our Shopify store (Padelgrips.nl) to send you relevant product offers and discounts. You can withdraw this consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email.

OpenAI

Match data is sent to OpenAI for generating AI coaching tips. See Section 6 above.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete all associated personal data within 30 days, unless we are required to retain it longer by law.

Anonymised and aggregated data (not linked to you personally) may be retained indefinitely for statistical purposes.

9. Your Rights Under GDPR

As a user in the EU, you have the following rights:

• Right of access — you can request a copy of the data we hold about you

• Right to rectification — you can correct inaccurate data

• Right to erasure — you can request deletion of your personal data ('right to be forgotten')

• Right to restriction — you can request that we limit the processing of your data

• Right to data portability — you can request your data in a machine-readable format

• Right to object — you can object to processing based on legitimate interest or for direct marketing

• Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time

10. Security

We take the security of your data seriously. Measures include:

• Authentication via secure magic link / email verification (no plain-text passwords stored)

• All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS / TLS)

• Access to production data is restricted to authorised personnel only

• Regular monitoring of our infrastructure for security vulnerabilities

11. Cookies and Tracking

The Post Padel app itself does not use cookies. If you visit our website (padelgrips.nl), separate cookie and tracking policies apply as described on that website.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or by email. The 'Last updated' date at the top of this document will always reflect the most recent version.

Continued use of the app after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
